Counselling & Support

Some people seek the support from a counsellor or social worker for ongoing long-term support, and others seek support for specific issues and short-term solution-focussed therapy. I provide both options, depending upon what each individual wants out of therapy.

Advocacy

I'm able to help you navigate complex systems, secure essential resources, and ensure your voice is heard. Whether it's dealing with legal issues, accessing services, or communication support, I'm here to empower you and champion you. I regularly advocate on behalf of clients to Centrelink, Services Australia, Education providers, Housing services, and NDIS.

Assessments & Reports

I run a lot of standardized screening and assessment tools for numerous mental health conditions, cognitive and behavioural conditions, autism & ADHD, stress and burnout risk, functional capacity, and gender incongruence. These are often done as part of clinical formulation, outcome measuring, or for letters and reports in the context of advocacy or gender affirmation.

Please note that I do not provide reports for legal or family law matters; reports are for clinical purposes only. If you are seeking a WPATH assessment and report, please confirm with your referring practitioner (GP, surgeon, etc.) if they will accept a report from a social worker.

Clinical Supervision

Clinical supervision involves professional guidance and support to enhance your clinical and personal skills, and ensure ethical practice. I provide a space for reflective practice, helping you navigate complex scenarios and practice dilemmas, develop your clinical skills, and maintain high standards of care. It is vital that people who offer therapy are continuous learners, and opportunities to reflectively learn are essential. I am able to provide written records of supervision to meet AASW CPD requirements.

Education & Training

I create and facilitate tailored training sessions for groups and workplaces on a range of topics, ranging from clinical skill-building to topic-based education. I tailor the workshops based on the specific needs of the learners, and facilitate them in ways that engage people with diverse learning styles.

Each workshop is unique because the learners are unique, but some common overarching areas that I've trained people in include:

  • Motivational interviewing

  • Complicated grief therapy;

  • Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 forms and associated rights;

  • LGBQA+ and Trans and Gender Diverse inclusion

Telehealth

I'm able to provide services via either phone or video. I usually use Google Meet for video appointments, which is confidential, safe, and compliant with Australia's healthcare telehealth regulations.

Community Outreach

I want my services to be as accessible to people as possible, which is why I offer community outreach. This means, I can travel to places such as residential aged care facilities and supported accommodation.
